I have been in the trades for many years, and have dealt with hundreds of contractors. I had to do an extensive exterior remodel on my three story house, so I decided to hire a contractor. I found James to be the rarest of contractors… one who is totally honest and reliable. He also actually knows how to properly run a business, which means that he can make his payroll without constantly going to the customer for cash payments. In addition, he knows all of the trades well and that means a quality job. He came in on budget during the end of Covid, when material and labor costs were skyrocketing. BuildMasters completely repaired and waterproofed the neglected, rotted-out second-floor balcony of our newly purchased home. They focused on a long-term solution. The repair turned out exactly how I envisioned. What had been the house's glaring weakness is now a solid, usable, attractive area.

James and Kevin did an outstanding job on a big project of removing an old fireplace in my home and building the installation for a new peninsula (3 open sides) fireplace. The project involved repositioning plumbing pipes, rebuilding the chaise, installing special heat resistant tile and mosaic, painting, and lots more. I particularly appreciate how James communicated so well with me at every step of the project - conscientiously checking to make sure I was getting what I wanted and that I was happy with his work.
